So, my Megane seems to have blown both headlamps at the same time (or maybe in rapid succesion) Had the bulbs replaced but the guy at the garage tells me the Alternator was the cause, says it's outputting 19V and increasing, eventually it will overload all the circuits if I don't replace it (for £360). Is he trying to scare me? I thought fuses were there to protect the circuits in such circumstances. Is it credible for an alternator to behave like this?
any advice gratefully received.
