hi, as both the scuttle drains and sunroof drains lead behind the wheel arch liner the muck may have blocked the sill drain hole which is at the bottom (as you would expect) and preventing the sill from draining. The over flow for the sill is into the cabin next to the front seats and will make the floor wet.
To check the sill drain loosen or remove the wheel arch liner (the rear section) behind this is a foam packing which pulls out and check the drain hold is not blocked.
It is important that you PULL out any debris not push it in, if you do this with the car facing down hill any content will flow out showing when it is clear.

Hope this helps
