In reply as where to put your wire, if you look underneath the passenger side footwell (you'll have to get in the footwell and look upwards)
You will see where the relays and fuses go and hopefully you should see a rubber "Sq-oval" (Square oval) shaped rubber with the "Bonnet release wire" running through it.
Use a screwdriver (Small & Sharp) to poke a hole through UNDERNEATH where the bonnet wire runs. leave it poking through, and look under your bonnet, behind the passenger side suspension, have a feel round and you should find the screwdriver poking out the other side.
Now you need to poke a larger screwdriver through a fewtimes to open the hole. Do this from the inside out.
Next, "Sharpen" your power wire, by removing the sheath and cutting the strands to a point, this assists you shoving the wire through the rubber, which is difficult and hard work if you have large hands.
once The wire is through you can then pull the rest through from under the bonnet where you previously felt the screwdriver.
A torch/inspection lamp assists GREATLY in finding these parts and it IS difficult to pull the wire through the rubber (more than likely due to a good seal.)
ALWAYS cover the wire with plastic trunking when its under the bonnet, it prevents accidental scoring by any sharp parts afterwards.
I'll post some pics of my setup when my camera comes back from service.
