Hi again hw. I have not solved my problem but still am adamant that it is a break in the power cable that goes to the motor. Once I've got enough cash I sahll get an auto electrician to crack it for me.
In the mean time I am currently doing a DIY circuit with a fuse and switch so I can turn the motor on and off independantly.
