Hi, the immobiliser in your car is a transponder and chip key type, it has nothing to do with any batteries in the key or damp in the interrior light, so you can put away that wd40. The fault you describe WILL be the key its self and your only option will be to have the key replaced or the immobiliser removed . Cost should be about the same either way
