Whether a clutch is heavy or light has nothing to do with how the previous driver has let the clutch out or if the car has ever towed a caravan etc, (unless an uprated clutch has been fitted).
The weight of the clutch is down to factors like the design of the pressure plate (spring tension, length of fingers), the ratio of the master cylinder etc, etc,
The clutch being cable or hydraulically operated can have quite a bearing as cables tent to get tight as they get old.
Please explain why my company Escorts clutch must have been 2 or 3 times lighter, because I'm now bu55ered if I can
