Xenon self levelling

H all,

I have a Laguna II 1.9dci which has been relatively trouble free in the 80,000 miles I have driven it. However whilst driving home tonight the headlight levelling suddendly changed resulting in too high dipped beam and dazzled oncomming traffic. The leveling mechanism still seems to work - restarting the engine with the lights on causes them to move down then up. Are their any simple checks that I could do to help resolve this. I belive that there is an arm connecting a level sensor on the wishbone - what happens if this becomes disconnected?

2003 Laguna II 1.9dCi (160,000mls!!!) Now Sold. 2003 Megane 1.9 dci Wifes car - engine self destructed after crank pulley failed and took out the cam belt. Clio 1.9 RT (Last remaining Renault - Kids Car) - Scrapped but replaced with 2001 Clio 1.2 16V. Audi A6 2.7 TDi, Golf 2.0 TDi
