Tailgate pistons/hinges

Not sure exactly what theyre called, but its the 2 hydraulic piston thingys that hold the tailgate open/up.

My tailgate wont stay up, it came down on my head earlier

Have had a look but cant see how they would be replaced.

So, firstly what is the correct name for these thingys, second, can i get replacements and third, is it something i can do myself ?

Many Thanks
