issue is to make them legal you have to have self leval and cleaning the specs are also subject to eu rules

Supposedly, these can be construed as illegal (under the Construction and Use Act) unless you have headlamp washers and a lamp levelling system. The pull goes like this: the police can ask you to turn the lights on, sees that they are Xenons and then asks you to use the washers. If you have washers on them, one plod will bounce the rear of the car to see if the lights move.

If it fails you can be done with a producer, penalty and points

I've looked at the 'The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986' and a number of the amendments online and I can't find any references to washer or self levelling. As a professional lighting engineer this area is of interest to me. Can you tell which amendments requires these as I haven't found it as yet.
