Yeah it's all down to driving style.

I had the same advisory a year ago, the pads are still in and look no different

Garages obviously err on the side of caution and take into account service intervals, some garages will class the pads as needing replaced if they are half worn.

Obviously you don't want to take the pads down to the steel but if you only do the mileage you say, personally I would get another year out of them...when they hit 3 mm change them, some may disagree.

Do check your brake fluid level as it may be on the low side because the pads are worn down a bit.

Hover over the "TOOLS" tab at the top of the page
> then in the dropdown click on "User Dashboard"
> click on "Edit Your Details" at the top Left hand side.
> scroll down to the "What's current in your garage?" box and enter your vehicle details.
> Once the details are entered scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Save Changes"

> Done.
