If you look at your battery , you should see a small (about 6/8" ) in length going from the positive terminal to the fusebox, clean the connection on the battery and the connection on the fuse box,
You will be very fortunate to get it kick in if your battery is flat by trying to jump start it from a running car, petrol would fire straight in, diesel a wing and a prayer, if you take the battery off your partners car, put it on yours, put your battery on your partners car, switch your partners car side lights on , then jump your partners car in( your partners car will start as it as been running once) . then try and jump start yours.
This will then eliminate a battery issue,
