There should be a plug that fits onto the reversing light switch.I can't see that the garage would have cut the wiring loom.........???
At least one of the wires that you have found(I think the pink one) is for the brake pad low warning.The wire should run to the front caliper and connects to the pads,when the pad runs low it earths against the brake dics and puts the light on.After time these wires become broken,due to the effect of the front wheels turning when steering,and are often cut off rather than being re-joined when the pads are changed.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
