Clio Mk1 headlining removal

I posted a note about this a while back; there's something rattling around between the headlining and the roof of my daughter's 95 Clio. Local garage think it's something from the sunroof or a spot weld (?) that's come adrift.
Whatever it is, it's DAMN ANNOYING! It sounds like its running the length of the car when you turn a corner sharply - and the roof just magnifies the sound.
I can't get at it from the sunroof so the only option is to take the headlining down and see what it is...
It will be too expensive for the garage to do this (car only cost 900 and I don't want to spend 150 or so on labour).
Question: has anyone done this and how easy/hard is it?
And if they have, and are based in Surrey, would they consider doing mine - for cash???
Thanks - and Happy Christmas
Mark (Kingston area)
