Could be an earth fault and its finding its earth return via the ABS lamps. Check with a test lamp or multimeter that your getting 12v across the brake lights when you press the brake pedal. If not check between the brake light and the bodywork of the car when the brakes are pressed. If this shows 12v the earth connection is faulty. There should be a connection with a wire to the bodywork somewere round the rear lights. Remove it, clean it and refit it.
