Basically it shows that some firms are a bit backward in keeping abreast of modern innovations - this is one instance. In any case Scrader recommend replacing the sensor seals at each tyre change. I suppose as more tyre fitters get stung with having to replace broken sensors they may acually take time out to get educated, the job is not any more complicated than normal just when a ham fisted fitter applys more muscle than brain then the problems start. One should get a written undertaking that any damage is fixed FOC then they might take more care. This is from experience where it cost me an extra £50 at the last trye change with the fitter and his boss just shrugging shoulders saying the sensor was corroded anyway.
