Re: Project RenNos

I think the Council would need to the powers of a by-law to take such action.

Surely they would need to serve you with any notice giving reasons why.

Was such a notice served and did you not appeal their decision??

I know some Council Tenants and private renters have terms and conditions relating to use of the property set out in their letting agreements. Even some privately owned properties have restrictions written into the deeds of purchase.

For instance I own my own house but under the deeds of the proprerty I am not permitted to run a business or cause unecessary nuisance to my neighbours.

i live in a rented property and it states in my tennancy agreement that i shouldnt have any vheicle parked in my garden unless it is on a hardstanding, and if it is on a hardstanding the vheicle must be in road worthy condition..... so im banged to rights they just give me 30 days to remove it before they would take any action.

Re: Project RenNos

Fair enough Martiboy - well at least you were aware of the situation before hand.

I have seen not only cars but caravans parked up in front gardens for years on end and I appreciate some people can have storage difficulties at times. There is one house a few doors up from me that has a caravan parked in the driveway and even the postman cant' get past it to deliver the mail. I would hate to think what would happen if the fire or ambulance service needed to gain access so sometimes there are valid safety reasons not storing in such areas.
