This sounds more like an engine problem now. Have you tried turning the engine with a spanner on the bottom pulley. I know lagdti suggested it in an earlier post but not sure if you have tried. When and how was the last time you had the car running? Did the starter just give up, did the engine stall, and not restart? Before you do too much more please try to turn over engine. It is possible that the cambelt has snapped and the valves are touching the pistons. If this is the case no ammount of power from the starter or battery will turn over the engine.
