1.5dci and Veg Oil

Has anyone here any experience of running their 1.5dci-engined car on 'over the counter' (SVO) vegetable oil ?

If you have any experience, good or bad - with diesel topping 1.06 a litre here in Portsmouth, I'd like to reduce our fuelling costs, even if that means mixing 50:50 SVO/Diesel in a seperate drum prior to fuelling the car in the driveway!

Someone has suggested I use a mix of 80:20 SVO/paraffin, but have seen that paraffin is dyed and recognised as an 'untaxed' fuel. Does anyone have any tried and tested recommendations?

Many thanks in advance! Adam
