I've actually seen Paul's Vel Satis - though didn't know it at the time (!!) - and it is a splendid thing to behold. It's certainly more practical with it's four doors. Also the two derv engines are rather more frugal.
The interior of the Avantime isn't too small - I took five large bods to a rugby game at Twickenham last July - all commented on the amount of space. The only limitation is the foot room as the seats are very low to the floor of the car. I have my seat raised an inch or two which gives the extra space.
Most Avantimes are now out of warranty - as I said before get one post belt change or negoitiate the price as it's an expensive job! So get the Avantime and fill the boot with spare
PS Paul admits the A'time is the better looker!!!
