Thanks for the help. If it'd been my own car I'd have cut wires etc but being my sisters car I decieded to do it properly with ISO connetors for a change.
After a visit to check it out this morning she told me she bought top of the range and its got electric everything. She didnt bother to read the manual but has now admitted it may have electric lights
Much brighter today and surprisingly .....no headlights when I turned on the ignition. They were set to off when she bought it and when I disconnected the battery everything has defaulted back to switched on. Problem solved. Thanks for the help.
