Hi I have owned a number of Citroen's Cx, DS, Bx and lastly two XM's in fact the last was a V6 black exclusive XM which really gave almost 4 years trouble motoring.
But I bought a 3.5L Initial Vel Satis about 4 months ago and have been very pleased with that. At the start of the thread it was said the XM is essentially an 80's car whereas the Vel Satis is a genuine 21st century vehicle which I think sums it up well. As good and comfortable as a well sorted XM is, I would say the Vel Satis is leagues ahead in terms of safety, lights, performance and even as a long distance cruiser!
My XM looked great where the Vel Satis seems to have love it or hate it type of looks but the more brutal front end seems to have more road presence anyway.
The main plus's for the Vel Satis however I would say are the great engine, superb sound system and lights!
