Any reputable glass replacement company will be able to replace your windscreen to insurance standards. The Laguna glass is bonded on to the car, rather than the old type with the string to hold it in. They have to account for every tube of bonding agent and register it to the exact car in case of accident. That is why you will have to wait the 2-3 hours while the bonding agent hardens before they will let you drive the car away. If a company tells you that it is safe to leave the place before that then avoid them as they are only interested in a quick turnover rather than safety. Even mobile companies make you sign a waiver to say you will not drive the vehicle for said amount of time. As for insurance, they normally only cover glass on comprehensive insurance and as for the excess it varies from company to company. You could be looking at anything from 50 - 200.
