Re: Scenic 2 2007 rear brakes jammed on
The release in the boot should be central, between back of spare wheel well and the back seats.
Should be able to find the hole if nothing else.
If you look underneath in the same place.
The outer sheath of the cable should be fixed to the underside with a couple of pins through a flange.
Unless someone has fitted the box without the cable, you should be able to see some evidence.
If not, I think that it would be possible to drop the box, open it and trip the latch inside with a screwdriver.
I can talk you through that if needed.... can't see a need to cut cables.
All the latch does is hold the cable/motor assembly in the box to the end. Releasing it lets the assembly float, removing tension/gaining slack.
Or maybe able to release caliper pins and get enough movement to remove the cable ends.
The handle BTW, is a yellow Tee bar shaped pull handle that clips onto the cable end. And can come off quite easily. Should be covered with a red cover/housing but....
Point is, if the handle has gone walkies, all that will be showing is a small "brake" cable with a small end crimp.
Sorta like a push bike brake cable end.
Or indeed a hole that the cable has disappeared down.
Just read kiait's post..... position above is based on a 2004 Scenic...rest should be similar if needed.
