electric handbrake issue
I have inadvertantly created a number of problems with my 2009 grand scenic 1.5dci
Driving on the A1 home from work last week I hit a large piece of stone full on with the nearside front wheel. I was doing about 65 at the time. Needless to say the front tyre deflated during the course of the night so I pumped it up and took the car to my local mechanic for a check - up. He replaced the front tyre, removed, balanced and tracked all 4 wheels.
He informed me that the nearside electric handbrake was not coming on although the offside was working as it should. A quick call to Renault resulted in a sharp intake of breath and a decision to trade the GS for a horse and cart.
On taking the car to work on Thursday morning I noticed a vibration through the whole car but not on the steering. Research on the interweb was inconclusive as to the cause (drive shafts, unbalanced wheels, damaged wheels etc.) Has anyone come across this type of problem? Is there anything I can try with the EPB before letting a Renault tech guy loose on it and thereby committing me and my family to a lifetime of poverty?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Just when I thought I could see light at the end of the tunnel it turned out to be some guy with a torch bringing me more work ?
