The matrix is a small radiator that hot engine coolant circulates through. The fan blows on it and thats how you get warm air in the cabin. When the engines warmed up of course.
Kenwood - I'm thinking that doing a replacement job on the heater matrix on your car is going to be difficult as you have air-con on your car. It might be a specialist job to de-gas the system first. Not sure what else is involved but as Triggerz said it's a dash out job.
