Is there a specific battery sequence or just the standard positive off first when removing and Positive back on first when reconnecting.

Notts what do you mean by using wd40 on the connectors and underbonnet pcb?
Not Cable sequence, Computers MUST be asleep when you disconnect. IGN off, drivers window open, Bonnet open, doors shut, not locked, dash extinguished. WAIT FIVE MINUTES MINIMUM.
Safest cable sequence is Neg off first & replace last.
That way if spanner slips on Pos & touches earth it doesn't spark.

While batt off, give the power board & it's connectors a clean / de water with WD40. It's under / behind the battery IIRC.

You doing the belts at the same time?
