Hi my problem was all related to the faulty instrument panel which was eventually replaced along with it's control unit situated under the fuse box in the passenger footwell & then reprogrammed. This is all tied in with the immobiliser which in these units. Good luck as this was an expensive repair for me. However the central locking stopped working as a result of the instrument panel faults.

Currently in R5gtt's garage:
