Possible Fix for Laguna Alarm Reset problem
I have read that alot of members have been having problems with there laguna alarms when reconnecting there batteries.
I recently had a battery on its last legs and when the volts got to low it seemed to screw up the alarm. The alarm would arm itself whether the car was locked or not, keys were useless. I was given the following advice by an form renault engineer and it fixed my problem, hope it works for some of you too.
Firstly as mentioned on another thread the state the alarm is in (ie Sounding) when the battery is disconnected is the state it will start in when reconnected. When reconnecting the battery you will have to wait for the alarm to stop before disconnecting the battery prior to reset. Annoying i know but handy if you can pull the plug on the siren unit.
Wait a small amount of time then reconnect the positive lead to the battery, turn the ignition on, then connect the negative lead. Lock the car then unlock and it SHOULD reset the alarm.
Granted this may not work with alarms with there own backup, but i hope this works for some of you.
