Recent figures released by the police and other organisations state there are around one million uninsured cars in the UK. As many as 3-4 road deaths per week involve such vehicles - that's around 150 - 200 lives per year. Surely this is unacceptable. Futhermore the additional cost to motorists is 360 million per annum which is added to the insurance of those of us who are legally insured - working out at about 30 per policy per year. 360 million would probably run a few extra hospitals, etc
I have no sympathy whatsoever for people who drive without a proper licience or no insurance. It should also be noted the 360 million figure does not include the cost pertaining to the lives lost or those maimed (medical costs, loss of income, etc)
