the bar is at its shortest, i havent slackened off the brake cable. problem at the moment is the bearing is stuck on, just the inner part. the rest is still in the hub. i think that the stub axle may be a little too big for the bearing. i want to remove the inner ring and try putting it back into the bearing. if i fit the hub and put a nut on, the nut should keep it all in place. that is my theory, that was my theory last time though, when the wheel almost fell off. my thinking is that i didn't tighten it up properly and some space was left inbetween the inner and the bearings.
