Why could they have not had a hole in the back plate so the shoes could be adjusted easier, and more accurately.
Or even in the drum, couple of 1/4 holes in the right place/PCD and could poke a screwdriver through and tweak the nut.
Manual cam adjusters on the backplate and to hell with all this autoadjust malarkey.
