Speaking to a friend who works within the industry, he said that Renault wanted to make a car that the consumer would find virtually impossible to maintain without the help of one of their garages.
And so you have the Scenic 2. Although to be fair nearly all modern day cars are awash with technology and very tight spaces in which to work in.
My 51-plate Almera was a nightmare to change a front bulb. I had to take out the coolant tank and the screen wash tank just so I could have enough space to squeeze my hands in and turn the bulb!
Why aren't these problems highlighted on Top Gear and 5th Gear? If I had known how hard it was going to be to maintain a Scenic I would've bought one!
