Re: Looking to buy Grand Scenic

Whew, not sure I can answer that.
You need someone who has driven both to answer and even then, the answer will be subjective to them and the style of driving they do.

While there is a significant rise in HP between the mark ii and the mark iii, from what you say, even more so when you factor in lighter weight, how that power is transferred from the engine to the drive wheels is important.
That is gear ratios.
And how the engine is set up to get to that power, ie turbo settings v fuel economy v emissions.
I don't know if it is the case but many makers have, over the years, traded power for longer gear ratios and efficiency so the bigger engine is not much sharper then the smaller one in normal driving.
But the larger one gains at higher cruising speeds.

You really need to drive both to work out if it is right for you.
Doubt you will be unhappy with the 110 compared to the earlier model but may not give the extra oomph that you may expect on paper.
Currently in Dancingdad's garage:
Qashqai 1.6 spark driven, Kia Sedona 2.9 TDI, Scenic II 15DCi 2004 (SORN) not quite RIP.
