Hi MrTotty - the Michelin Energy tyres have a lower rolling resistance thus they give better MPG. When you talk about the light are you referring to the low fuel warning light. It is not recommended to let diesels run wery low on fuel simply because once empty they can be bu**er to get going again - you need to bleed the sytem, etc. Also diesel tanks are more likely to gather water which lies at the bottom of the tank and if this gets into the fuel pump you could end up with a bill for £1000 plus
After reading the post again I think he has a digital type fuel gauge and is referring to the amount of miles driven before one bar of the fuel display goes out (ie from a full tank, say 5 bars to 4 bars)....
Damn digital fuel gauges, cant beat the traditional type.
