Re: Electronic Handbrake

Alternative is BBA Reman
They offer a rebuild service of your existing unit... last price I saw was about 140 but check
BBA-Reman - Automotive electronic component repairs
Warranteed work by a reputable company has to be better then ebay may or may not work.

Nottnoc.... AFAIK, basic box is same whether Scenic or Grand Scenic.
Differing mountings that can be swapped and cables can be swapped from Scenic unit and vice versa.
The Grand Scenic, 2nd cable is in the Scenic box, just short and fixed to the end cap.

Also, before whipping off the box and condemning it, are the cables, equaliser unit and calipers OK ?

Take something like the equaliser unit..... one cable in, two cables out and a flimsy pressed steel in plastic moving part.
Never gets lubrication.... mine was gunged up to the eyeballs.
If that is jamming and a wheel isn't locked so a wheel sensor moves, the unit will exert more force.
Wheel sensors can be triggered by a passenger moving if the brakes aren't on solid.
And by MOTs where the motor is in the air with handbrake on and front wheels rotated.
Currently in Dancingdad's garage:
Qashqai 1.6 spark driven, Kia Sedona 2.9 TDI, Scenic II 15DCi 2004 (SORN) not quite RIP.
