Unhappy suspected electrical problems.

i kinda recently installed my amp and under advice of someone i stupidly drilled a small hole next too the main wiring loom. since doing this, may i add that i have since relocated the wire through a spare gromet, the hand brake warning light is on constantly but the hand brake is fine and also i have lost the speedo and the milage counter has stopped working. i have been quoted that it will cost around 200pounds to have this fixed. i was hoping that there was a way of me doing it myself too save some much needed money.
