Good old B&Q and their cheapo plastic baths. When recently renewing my bathroom suite the first thing I done was ask an experienced plumber for advice and yeh youv'e guessed what he said - don't buy from the big warehouse stores - even their good qaulity suites constantly arrrive on site with bits missing, etc. He advise I go select a suite with a steel bath and then go to a plumbers wholesale. The big warehouse we went to where looking around 600-700 and the wholesaler quoted 285 plus VAT - couldn't believe it - are you sure its the same product says I - have a look for yourself he said and it was exactly the same - tap holes and all. It was delivered the following day. Whilst paying for the stuff I asked the counterhand (not a salesman) did he know anybody who would fit - sure he says my brothers a plumber - phoned him and he fitted a week later for 80 - it took him half a day. Total cost 414. Well chuffed I was. Most wholesalers will give a good discount if you ask. I always say if you don't ask you don't get. You got to remember the wholesalers have to compete favourably to stay in business. Now if only I could find a good renault dealer who worked that way
