I had something similar on my car. One of the lights would go dim and give a pink output after starting up OK.
It could be the same thing. The encouraging thing is that the bulbs fire up OK, as, as far as I know the ballast is only used to produce enough voltage to get the bulbs lit (although I could be wrong).
Anyway my problem was the bulb, as it was replaced (did both at the same time) and the problem went away.
I suppose the only way you are going to know for sure is to swap the offending bulb over to the other side of the car and see if the bulb does the same thing.
Fingers crossed its not your ballast !
