I'd think on swapping the other drum as well.
Less critical then with discs but one new and one old can unbalance the brakes.

Lad was lucky, brake failure is one of the scariest things that can happen in a car.
It has to be a bonus if you manage to stop without finding something solid in the way.

Qashqai 1.6 spark driven, Kia Sedona 2.9 TDI, Scenic II 15DCi 2004 (SORN) not quite RIP.
