We always replace the coils with aftermarket ones(made by Beru),and these so far have proved to be reliable.I don't work for a Renault garage,but I have still changed a hell of a lot these coils !.Any decent motor factor should stock them,and they're easy to change.Really it does pay to replace the whole set in one go as if one goes,then usually the rest follow suit after a short time.
Renault aren't alone in having problems with coils ,but they do seem to have more failures than most.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
