More than possible. the Scenic 5 Speed has a 3 pin double switch, at the bottom of the box accessible behind the front part of the inner wing. Switch gives neutral & reverse signals.
BTW If you wish to remove to test, A) Oil will pi55 out, B) The sensor has the same thread as a wheel bolt. DAMHIK.
