Citroen Xsara Picasso - Buying advice

The wife is looking at changing her car she tells me. She now wants a Citroen Xsara Picasso. (I talked her out of getting a Zafira)

Is there anything to look out for when I go to look at one ? We know to keep away from the 1.6 as its underpowered, so are looking at the 1.8 16v SX as its got all the toys she wants for the money she can afford.

I've looked on the Parkers and Honest John websites and the reviews look good. Well much better than the Zafira thats for sure.

Also does anyone know what interval does the cambelt need changing at ?

Thanks for any input.

A Xsara Picasso; why not ??
A 16v 1.6 (110 bhp) would also do the job and it's still in production.

Can't help with regards to Cirtreons Dave, apart from the fact that you already know what French cars are like so ensure a decent service history and that all the electrics work

Yes mate, I now only too well what french cars are like.

Needless to say I'll be going over it with a fine toothcomb. Plus I'm urging the Mrs to take out an extended warranty on it, just incase !
