Cheers - a chipped/damaged reluctor ring sounds like the most probable cause, as the ABS also sometimes kicks-in for a fraction of a second when I slow down for junctions etc ....guessing I've lost a tooth.

Does anyone know whether the reluctor ring is an integral part of the CV joint? ..or can it be purchased as a separate part? I want to keep this as cheap as possible!
