Don't think you can go wrong with a 2.0 tbh mate they are a good balance of power and economy.
Ive had one from new on an 03 and have the diesel which is supposed to be a nightmare, if you look after it it will look after you.
Common things to look out for are knocking from the rear - bushes x2, track rod end wear on the steering arms. Basically check all suspension balljoints for wear, and knocking at motorway speed.
Check to make sure all the electrics work, spend time learning what the car has as there are a lot of toys on the Initiale
