Had my grand Scenic coming up 3 yrs now , she's superbly practical , luggage cover when in 7 seat mode sits behind the ankles of the second row passengers with "tail" pointing up totally out of way. Luggage net in boot stops stuff ratting around and cheap tarpaulin covers boot carpet for mucky loads and reaches up sides of boot for even more protection! Seats 6 & 7 are really for smaller bodies fit adults can be accomodated but if u need a permanent 7 seater buy a bus!
Second row seats tumble forward and if needed lift out to create van like space. (almost 2 mts end to end) front passenger seat back folds forward to handle even longer items. We camp and boat and boot in 5 seat mode swallows a folded 12 ft inflateable rib and 5hp 4 stroke outboard engine (in joke what came first- car or boat!) with room for more stuff.
Cannot recommend the Renault roofrack though! its pricey and only Renault accessories (also pricey) will fit it - its too broad for u-brackets and the slot in the top is recessed to stop most T- track fittings being combined with it - if buying again would buy Thule for more versatilty
No bother with underfloor lockers, front seats have to be well back to stop use and cooled glove box superb for cold beers - -center console cubby hole also takes indian / chinese takeaway meal cartons perfectly. Front Door pockets hold 2 lt bottles of milk but can't find anywhere to put the cornflakes for breakfast. (yes have bivvied in it to catch the tide when surfing (the wet, cold stuff not the web)
Only real gripe is low towing weight of the car compared to other people carriers. Have yet to find something that defeats the car!
Could that be a new Thread - "Beat the Grand Scenic?"
