Keep it in your pocket. Follow previous instructions.
For future reference, the ONLY time you need it in the slot, Is for servicing & diagnostics. For that, Card in, No clutch, No brake, gear immaterial, push start for 10 secs. Dash will light & Steering unlock, but engine won't start. All computers will be on for diagnostics, one can move the wheels from outside & operate EPB whilst servicing rear brakes. Press stop twice to leave this mode.
IMPORTANT, Brakes MUST BE OFF & Stay OFF when servicing rear Discs. Think what happens if a front wheel moves (EPB tries to stop a perceived runaway) While you have the rear caliper off for instance.
These Bu$$ers are too smart for their own & your own good
