Allegedly, the EPB checks incline and decides when to release depending on amount of throttle, clutch and incline.
To be fair, it seemed to work on my Scenic... only time I rolled back was if I stalled...which of course, we never do

On strange foot operated hand brakes.... first time I drove an American car with foot pedal to apply.... I came to a junction, slowed, forgot I was in an auto so pushed the clutch... and locked the rear wheels rather abruptly.
Realised what I'd done, pulled the release, the footpedal shot up and clipped my ankle as it went past.
Didn't touch it after that, bl00dy dangerous
