It will always air caution anyway. Running the tank that low isnt the best Idea on a regular basis as the fuel pump will pick up all the crap left at the bottom of the tank, That in turn can cause other problems.
The Needle is the most accurate as its based on a float in the petrol tank which sends a reading to the needle. Thats why on round-a-bouts the needle moves
