Goodness, sorry to hear about your exhaust shearing off 2 weeks after the warranty expired. I feel for you. It's a shame you're probably going to sell the VS. Who was your warranty with by the way, Renault or an aftermarket? Mine's with WarrantyWise, whose policy, even with Wear & Tear cover added as an expensive option, covers me for seemingly...nothing! Wriggle, wriggle...
Just had my car back after 4 weeks at the Renault specialist and they've replaced the 4 brakes, nearside steering and the rear anti roll bar bushes, but the vibration at 80 was still happening so I pushed them and they admitted they had only got the front wheels tracked and balanced when I told them to do all 4, so they did a 4-wheel alignment and balancing and it does seem a bit better with less vibration, but there's still some there. Possibly road surface or my new tyres haven't bedded in yet... I hope.
But the car now feels smoother after its big service (50k miles but no belts touched as it's too early), so I'm somewhat happier, especially with new brakes all round.
I was dismayed though, to discover my sat nav has now packed in (satellite on red) so after my searching on this forum, I bought the clips at Halfords to disconnect the sat nav at the fascia and also the glovebox, to see if that reboots it. Otherwise it may be the antenna. It's a bit coincidental that it's just been at the specialist for a month and now something else doesn't work, but if I ask them they'll probably say it's wear and tear.
Sigh... Sorry again about your own VS.
And hi Tony, interesting to see you've been having a vibration issue too. Thanks for the tip on co axle joints. Did the Renault dealer give you that opinion fairly quickly?
