You should be fine with them - they've made quite a few exhausts for the Avantime owners!

Unhappy vel drivers - suspension springs - anyone else has this?

my gorgeous vel has now been in the garage for 2 weeks because ( I am assured) there is only one genuine Vel suspension spring to be found in the UK ( so they're going to have to change the broken side only - not ideal) and apparently none in France! They're on back order with Renault for manufacture. Even as I write this I'm thinking that sounds a bit odd - doesn't Sarcosi get driven about in one of these things ( bet he's got a garage full of spares though).

But I guess the important message to get to all Vel Satis drivers is pray you never break a suspension spring, becuase the car rental bill is likely to exceed the repair bill you'll end up with - eventually. As a result I'm likely to be getting shot of my lovely car in the near future- I can just about stand the bills, but having it off the road for weeks at a time is plain ridiculous.

Has anyone else had this problem please?

Just an update, had the custom exhaust fitted by M I J Performance on thursday, took approx 3 hours and i'm very pleased with the result. There's a nice little burble from the exhaust at idle now and the car feels like its picked up a little power from somewhere. I'd definitely recommend them to other VS owners if they need to replace their system with a 304 grade stainless steel system at less than half what Renault want for a mild steel exhaust.

All in all a big

Vel Satis 3.0Dci Oil filter

These are very expensive from Renault.

Try Vauixhall for the Vectra diesel. Same engine but filter 10 cheaper!!! Alternator and other bits also obtained for less money.
